Estonian site visit

From 1st to 6th May 2010 fifteen teachers from all partner countries Italy, France, Turkey and Bulgaria visited Pärnu. The visit programme was rich in events and activities.
The teachers saw the Folklore charity concert in the Pärnu concert hall prepared by the students of Pärnu vene gümnaasium.

They visited the school where they were shown a  folklore concert prepared by the school folk dance group. The group consists of 16 students who are 12-13 years old. The coach of the group is Luule Kustassoo, a teacher of Estonian. The guests were shown the most popular Estonian fok dances like Kaera-Jaan and Kuppari mouri. Our students taught the guests to dance Estonian folk dances.

The teachers also visited the kindergarden Pöialpoisid where they saw the folkore concert prepared by the children. It was a program for the Children`s Song and Dance Festival (Laste laulu ja tantsu pidu).

At the folkore party our guests met the Estonian folkore group "Jõõpre vallatud" and Russian folkore group "Sudarushki". The teachers took active part in the folk dance party and danced and played different Estonian folk games.

At the workshop the partners presented their students works about  national instruments.

The teachers visited Parnu Maarja-Magdalena gildi maja where they got the acquaintance with Estonian handicraft and made some handicraft masterpieces with their own hands.

In Tallinn we visited Rocca -al -Mare open air museum where the teachers learned about how Estonians lived in the past, saw a folk show and tried Estonian national food in the Kolu Kõrts.

In Tartu we visited Estonian National museum  and Raadi Mõis.

The teachers also visited the city Town Hall where they were welcomed by the Pärnu vice mayor Jane Mets.
It goes without saying there were guided tours everywhere: at school, in the kindergarden, in the Town Hall, in Pärnu, Tallinn and Tartu.

We had wonderful time together! Everyone enjoyed the site visit!
